I have a VistaHome restore CD made for a GQ computer, can I put it on a machine I built?

Just bought a GQ that has a full Vista recovery OS. However I am putting Windows XP pro on that computer. Can I put Vista on my other computer with the GQ Vista Code? My other computer is made by me.
