Nintendo Wi0Fi usb connector problems?

My friend gave me this Wifi adapter for my Wii with out a disc and i found an alternate download on http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/customersupport/downloadUSB.jsp but whenever it's almost done it says please insert the device when it's already in my computer. After that it says application error and closes. How do I download this software properly?
