I need a answer for this?

I joined this social club in brasilia and this question was asked by a guy and nobody came up with a good answer, well according to me.Christianity in medival times till Industrial revolution was often known as the soul of western civilisation and even if many did not believe in it or were too angry at often corrupt popes in Rome, they were more th*n happy to use it as an excuse to expand abroad.Aztec Civilisation,Native egyptions(just before the advent of coptic christians),Maya,Persian,Indian,African all of these were *uncivilized* weeds increasing every year and need to be cleaned by the oases (europeans) according to a famous british general (not exact words) even though technically they were much advanced th*n the europeans. The first thing they did was to convert the locals into christianity and build churches seemingly to westernize them. Now that influence of church is declining,do you reckon that western civilization is losing its soul? and this spiritual void that is being created ,do u think this is the prime reason of growth of religions often thought as impossible to grow like Islam or judaism(just before industrial revolution there were 1500 special schools in London alone to defame islam and killings of jews was norm)?
