From a diploid comes a haploid... but how!!???!?

meiosis - takes the daughter cells of mitosis and makes daughter cells which have had the DNA split between them so each now has only 23 chromosomes. Now when the egg (23) meets sperm (23) it will make a baby with the full complement of 46.
